Ilocos Adventure 2011

10:15 AM

Ilocos Sur was my father's hometown. This is where he grew up. It's a very nice place. I like the fresh air, the cold breeze especially when you are beside the seashore. Not the kind of thing when you are in Manila. A little change of environment is very healthy physically and emotionally.

Year 2011 is the year of our marriage. Many FIRSTS happened that time. This was our First Christmas together. It is also my son's Birth year. When I was single, my family used to have vacation at Ilocos Sur. We spent Christmas together with my cousins, It's more like reunion so definitely we are all having FUN.

The Anorico Family agreed to have vacationed in Ilocos Sur together with my family since they still haven't been there yet. So we took them a tour.

PONCE DEL MAR
Cabugao, Ilocos Sur

photo taken year 2011
This is the Beach Resort wherein we spent our nights in Ilocos Sur. It is 5 minutes away from my lola's house. This poster my look creepy but don't get me wrong, this place is awesomely clean and very peaceful and relaxing! It's just that the only photo I had so far of the place but I grabbed some photo from their FB Page.

What you can see here is the memorabilla of the late president, from his stint in the armed forces down to his presidency.

Outside View of the Marcos Museum. It was like an ordinary house :)

 Next Stop: BALUARTE ZOO

Baluarte is owned by Mr. Chavit Singson, a well-loved son of Vigan and well known to Filipinos and Foreigners who follow the Philippine Political Scene.

What you can see in here,

This place was once a collection, but now they want to improve it.

This is a FREE Admission to everyone. It is Open 7 days a week from 7 am to 6 pm. All you need is a pocket money to buy souvenirs. A friendly budget for a traveler.

And so we went straight to our hotel to take some rest.

Day 2

We went off to my lola's house to have our breakfast. The picture below was at the back of the house. Though the sun is good but the air is kind of cold so I wear Sweater :)

Malacanang of the North
It is a 5-hectare property located at Paoay, Ilocos Norte.
It is considered as one of the important landmarks in the province of Ilocos Sur as this has been the official rest house of late president Marcos and his Family whenever they are in Ilocos.

My Sister Angel, my Mother, and my Father

If you are planning to visit Malacanang of the North, It is open on Tuesdays to Sundays 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. There's also a 20 pesos entrance fee.

Oh-my-gosh! Knowing more of Marcos. Actually, I've been here a couple of times already. We just took my New Family (the Anorico Family) to this place :)

If you are planning to visit Ilocos, these foodie is a must try especially the Empanada and Longganisa. I like Longganisang Ilocos, I can eat a BUNCH! :)

I must say that our trip in Ilocos is more like an Educational Fieldtrip. Haha! But anyway, the most important is we all had fun. The next time we go there, we should invade the North. There are lots of tourist spot to visit especially now that my kids are baby-no-more (fewer demands). Yehey!
