MomsVenture Cooks : Turon w/ Brown Sugar

10:40 PM

Good evening folks!

Today I make Turon for meryenda. It's my kids favorite.

When it comes to food, you can always make a difference or make a twist like adding Chocnut (I found it in my favorite Magazine, the "Yummy Cooking with kids"). But for now, just a simple turon. But maybe next time, I'll try to add Chocnut.

It's super easy. Preparation time is 15 minutes and Cooking time is 10 minutes.

What you'll need:
Plantain Bananas (Saba), sliced in half lengthwise
Lumpia Wrappers
Cooking Oil
Brown Sugar
Toasted sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

1. Place saba in the center of a lumpia wrapper.
(with chocnut : Mash chocnut until powdery. Add water and mix to form a paste. Place saba in the center of a lumpia wrapper and top with 1 tbsp Chocnut.)
Fold sides and roll tightly. Seal edges with water.
2. Heat oil over medium heat. Add turon then sprinkle brown sugar on top.Flip rolls to coat in melted sugar. Once turon turns golden brown, remove from heat and drain on a wire rack.
4. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Let cool to allow sugar coating to harden.

That's it. Easy to make for meryenda. Happy Eating!
